Socioeconomics have a large bearing on high school success, so this isn't really surprising. Marlboro High School is one of the tops in Monmouth county, behind only Holmdel, I believe. Marlboro also has a central kindergarten program (ie., all the kids in the district go to one school), and this is a concept we really like. Our daughter will eventually attend Asher-Holmes, which is an excellent elelmentary school. Marlboro schools are better, and the schools are one of the primary reasons why we're moving there in the fall. There are no specific areas to avoid, but in Marboro Monomouth Heights has had some problems with underground storage tanks. If your child isn't in that program there, there are some rough individuals in the other part. Freehold township HS is good and the boro has high scores but that is because it heads the Pre-med program. The HS district is the same Freehold Regional HS District. You want to Avoid Freehold Boro, but people from the Boro said they had no complaints with the schools. Can anyone give me the scoop on relocating to either Marlboro or Freehold?
